With the lockdown, people are now having to spend more time with their significant other, yet there’s an increase in divorce or queries on divorce. We examine the problems of modern relationships and the reasons why there is such a high divorce rate. We look at Eli Finkel’s thesis on the ‘All or Nothing Marriage’ and Lori Gottlieb’s book on ‘Marry Him: the Case for marrying Mr Good-enough.’
Are we being too picky or not being picky enough? Why do people divorce when they feel like they’ve grown apart?
