Description

In our Martin Luther King, Jr. Day episode, Stephen Walker, Business and Project Manager of All Aces, Inc., and Dr. Atyia Martin, CEM, CEO and Founder of All Aces, Inc., talk about Dr. King, what has changed since the Civil Rights era, and about how though many laws have changed, people of color — and in particular — Black people, are still not welcome in certain places or spaces, and certainly not always to show up as who and how they are.

Stephen and Dr. Martin also discuss how MLK Jr. might be received today with our current understanding of what Blackness is, or may be. In exploring that line of questioning, Dr. Martin deconstructs the myth of Blackness of a monolith, and how that myth can feed into racism, internalized or otherwise.
