There’s much wickedness in today’s society. It’s probably not far from where Lot had pitched his tent in a place called Sodom and Gomorrah. That place had become so vile that the report of its vileness had ascended into heaven itself. 

The pre-incarnate Christ came down with two angels to see if it was so. And He let Abraham know that He was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. It was to be sovereignly judged by fire. Societies can get so bad throughout history that God has to judge them. 

I often wonder whether we’re getting close to this in our nation. We’ve killed over 60 million children in the womb in our time. We now call evil good and good evil, and we’re redefining everything that God defines as true. 

I can’t help but wonder how close are we as a society to the judgment of God?
