It was a straight honor to talk to Ikki. As a professional sports chaplain who was formerly the NBA's Houston Rockets chaplain, he takes you inside the locker room to see what it's like working with NBA athletes in today's day and age, ministering to pro athletes.
We also talk about so much more--from marriage to family to what he's learned from working with Tony Evans (Ikki is the lead pastor of Cottage Grove Church and used to work directly with Tony in Texas) to what it's like for us as Asian-American men in a sports industry where you don't see much of us. Shout out to it also being Asian American Pacific Islander heritage month. It wasn't planned to release this episode to kick off AAPI month but I'm so glad it fell on this date. We respect and honor our families who have gone before us, paving the way for us as we celebrate those of AAPI decent.
