Illini Top Cut Annual Fall Production Sale
Description
The Illini Top Cut Annual Fall Production Sale held Sunday October 12 at 1 PM at the Farm in Macomb, Illinois.
What a great conversation with Monte Lowderman with Lowderman Cattle Company! The Lowderman’s have put together an excellent line up for this Fall 2025 sale and you won’t be disappointed. Monte was a great interview and you can tell his auctioneer background makes him an excellent story teller. This is a really great story by a great midwest family!
Welcome to this year’s Illini Top Cut sale! What exciting times in the cattle business and the future looks bright. We are proud of this set of cattle and feel, without question it is our deepest and highest quality set of ET calves we have ever offered, complimented by a stellar group of young bred females that are ready to add value and revenue to your bottom line.
The Lady 48E cow family has become a staple here at LCC and this is the largest offering we have had that is either direct progeny or second generation offspring of hers. These cattle have high end value and quality bred into them. A highlight is a trio of sisters sired by Red Kingdom and out of 130K who was our lead off cow in last year’s sale that we sold ½ interest in to Grimmel Schaake cattle. Just proof that the 48E cow family is going to thrive aggressively.
The bred heifers offered were retained with this sale in mind to offer up. They are all out of power donor cows that have huge breeding value and potential. A headliner in that division is lot 7, a Maverick x 48E daughter that needs to head straight to the donor pen after calving this fall. The young cows selling are exceptional with added udder quality, structure and eye appeal that have all raised big calves, we are excited about what these bred females can do for their new owners.
The 2026 Jr. National Junior Hereford Expo is just to the north in Madison, WI next summer and we feel there are several heifers that are high end caliber that will be very competitive and well represented. Show cattle have been near and dear to us, but we believe in cattle that will thrive, be productive, and add value in production and we are confident these heifers will be major contributors after their show careers.
We have a deep passion for Hereford cattle, the Hereford breed and most importantly the Hereford people. We are beyond thankful and blessed for our past customers, their success, our current customers and welcome new faces to LCC and Macomb, IL. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need travel assistance. We look forward to seeing you on October 12.
