Israel says the Rafah crossing with Egypt will reopen soon, but only for Palestinians leaving Gaza. It has not said when people will be allowed to return, despite the ceasefire deal requiring two-way access. Egypt denies coordinating with Israel on reopening the crossing. The move heightens fears among Palestinians in Gaza of permanent displacement amid ongoing Israeli attacks. Many Palestinians worry they must choose between unbearable living conditions and leaving with no guarantee of return. Thousands who previously fled Gaza remain stranded outside, unable to go back. Analysts say Israel is selectively implementing the ceasefire terms, prioritising its own conditions over Palestinian and regional concerns.
