Israeli news outlet Haaretz has carried out an investigation into the company that organizes the departures from Gaza. They say “Al-Majd Europe” was approved by Israel's Voluntary Emigration Bureau. The bureau works in close cooperation with Israel's defense ministry and was established to ease security requirements for Palestinians leaving Gaza. Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh is following the story from Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. She has more on the leader behind the controversial group.
