Description

Join Dan and Tom as they welcome Bill Koenig of The Spy Command to help decode the James Bond movie posters from the 1970s. These are the posters and lobby cards used to promote DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, LIVE AND LET DIE, THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, and MOONRAKER.

We are very happy that Bill was able to join us.  His decades of knowledge of spy movies, TV shows, and novels, and his helmsmanship of The Spy Command have brought great insight, without a lot of hype, to the industry of reporting and commenting on spy entertainment.

How much about these posters do you REALLY know? We predict with certainty that you will hear something you didn’t know before.

So, what is behind the various posters for each of the 1970s James Bond movies? Each of them had had very distinctive posters, lobby cards, door panels, and more created to market each movie.   But what’s behind those posters?  That’s what we will break down in this episode.

Some of the things we look at include:

·         Some items on the posters show things that never hit the screen

·         Interesting credits on a pre-release poster

·         How was sex used in the promotion of the James Bond movies

·         Who are the talented artists behind these posters and how did each influence the message?

·         And more
