Our Community Time series consists of short episodes in which we hear from Loomis Chaffee community members about their experiences in the classroom and beyond. Today, English teacher Jeff Scanlon tells us about his first job picking tobacco, a common early employment for many Connecticut River Valley natives. Jeff was actually mentioned in our recent interview with novelist Keith Scribner '80, whose most recent novel takes place in the area and features Connecticut shade tobacco.
