He explained that while biomolecules are stable in ionic liquids, no planets with such conditions have been found yet, making this part of a long-term research journey. He explored the possibility of finding ionic fluids on Earth, including in ocean vents and volcanic areas, and considered their potential to sustain life beyond water.
