Today’s scriptures are like a spoon full of medicine – it might seem bitter, but, it will make us better. The prophet Zephaniah and the Apostle John offer the same sermon: Repent! In this season, when our attention is on the long-awaited Savior, we might not give our sin the attention it needs. Both prophets declare that the road to real joy goes through repentance – because repentance opens our hearts to the rescue and restoration that Christ brings in Advent and always.
