Bio:
William (Bill)
Gebhardt is the founder of 10Dynamics and developer of TAD – a technology they
developed for systematic trading across multiple markets. TAD is the
culmination of nearly 30 years of investment experience in a broad range of
markets combined with a rigorous academic background and practical quantitative
expertise.
Mr.
Gebhardt’s experience can be divided into two parts. First, as an academic and
“quant”, he received a PhD in Finance from Cornell University focused on
applying trading strategies grounded in behavioral finance theories to equities
and corporate bonds. He held a position as an Assistant Professor of Finance at
the University of California at Davis and later worked for Barclays Global
Investors where he was responsible for the research and development of trading
signals for BGI’s European Long/Short Equity portfolio.
The second
part of Mr. Gebhardt’s career focused on proprietary trading and overseeing
large proprietary trading businesses. Mr. Gebhardt worked in various roles for
commodity trading businesses including Deutsche Bank as Managing
Director,
Head of European Power and Gas Trading and most recently as a Partner for a
private equity funded energy trading merchant, Trailstone, where he was
responsible for Trailstone’s European business.
Mr.
Gebhardt founded 10Dynamics in February 2020 and working with a small team of
colleagues has fully implemented and automated the TAD system.
Mr.
Gebhardt has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, an M.S. in Finance and a PhD in
Finance. He has published peer-reviewed academic papers in the Journal of
Accounting Research and Journal of Financial Economics.
