Ageism, Age Discrimination. Ageism the strategy and tactics of discrimination of people over the age of forty. Today over 35% of our population is over the age of 40. More and more people over the age of 40 are finding it more difficult to find jobs or get a promotion within their workplace due to their age. The EEOC in the past few years received over 230,000 complaints of age discrimination but chose to only take 1% of the complaints to court. Courts today have demonstrated a lack of support for workers over the age of forty and side with businesses and organizations to dismiss older employees. What can you do to fight age discrimination?
