Description

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary benefit concert Live Aid, the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia hosted a conversation between Electric Factory Concerts co-founder and Live Aid Executive Producer Larry Magid and Pierre Robert.

In the first part of the conversation Larry shared some technical aspects of the show like what it was like to work with Bob Geldof and Bill Graham to book the show and how they designed the rotating stage to keep the concert continuously going. Pierre Robert discussed how he would do "kamikaze interviews" backstage and talked how electric the crowd got after the Led Zeppelin and CSNY reunions. These stories and many more in this first half of the conversation.

A special thanks to the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia for hosting and recording the event and to T Morgan for moderating the conversation.
