Description

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary benefit concert Live Aid, the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia hosted a conversation between Electric Factory Concerts co-founder and Live Aid Executive Producer Larry Magid and Pierre Robert.

In the second and final portion of the chat, the pair discuss how the immense heat affected the Philadelphia portion of the show and reminisced about a last minute stage announcement was made to tell one lucky person their was a kidney transplant ready for him and how he got a police escort to the airport so he could receive the life saving operation. The pair also discussed all the incredible Philly talent (both on and off stage) that took part in the show and the one artist who couldn't be a part of Live Aid but went on to remarkable charitable work.

A special thanks to the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia for hosting and recording the event and to T Morgan for moderating the conversation.
