Living with HIV: Increasing Awareness, Ending The Stigma
Update: 2019-10-29
Description
Governor Ron DeSantis recognized October 15, as National Latino AIDS Awareness Day in Florida. Latino communities are significantly affected by HIV in Florida. In 2018, 34 percent of the 4,906 persons newly diagnosed with HIV in Florida were Latino (compared to 25 percent who were white and 39 percent who were black). Needless to say HIV and its stigma have disproportionately affected our POC communities.
