A man, Elliott Tramel Nowden, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the brutal murder of 67-year-old Mirna Soza Arauz on a Metro train. The attack, captured on surveillance video, was unprovoked and resulted in the victims death. Nowden, who used methamphetamine daily, was found guilty and sentenced to life plus eight years for robbery. The victims son, Jose Roman Soza, expressed his pain and loss, stating that his mother was murdered for items she would have freely given away.
