Matthew 17 describes several important events in the life of Jesus Christ. The chapter begins with the Transfiguration, where Jesus transforms in front of His closest disciples (Peter, James, and John) and meets with Moses and Elijah. Later, Jesus heals a possessed boy whom the disciples could not heal, and Jesus predicts His own death and resurrection. Finally, Jesus performs a miracle to pay the tax that was due on the Temple, by telling Peter to catch a fish with a coin in its mouth.
