Update: 2022-04-13
Description
Michael Bourque with the Canadian Real Estate Association in Canada (CREA) asks why are municipalities getting four billion dollars to reduce red tape and regulations that prevents housing constructions? They should not be given billions to reduce costly regulations that's throwing roadblocks to building homes.
Ian Lee, Sprott School of Business, Carleton University. says there is a shortage of more than two million homes in Canada. Municipalities share a lot of the blame for the housing shortage because they have thrown road blocks in the way of building houses across Canada.
Franco Terrazano with Canadian Taxpayers Federation says the 452 billion in new spending is not addressing the need to balance the budget or pay down the debt.
