Mental Health in Schools and through Covid-19 in South Africa, with Maria & Suzanne
Description
Hello & Welcome to the Research Zone podcast, the podcast where we aim to make sense of youth mental health research. Each week, we will talk to a different researcher to learn about their research project, discussing the why, what, where, when and how of their research, and most importantly, how this can benefit us as young people.
Today I am joined by Maria & Suzanne to chat about school-based mental health workshops in South Africa, and how Covid and lockdowns have affected young people in South Africa. We will cover:
- Some cultural differences impacting mental health between the UK and South Africa
- The Four Steps to my Future programme Maria and Suzanne developed and delivered schools
- Results from interviews conducted to find out how Covid affected young people in South Africa
- Next steps for the projects, and what we still need to find out.
