Description
This week on NEWS.MC TV, we bring you the latest from Monaco and beyond — a mix of glamour, grit, and great causes.
The stars shone brightly in New York as the Princess Grace Foundation Gala lit up the Plaza Hotel on October 29th. Presided over by Prince Albert II, the event honoured 40 years of supporting rising talent in theatre, dance, and film — a celebration of art, legacy, and the enduring spirit of Princess Grace herself.
Back home, Monaco’s Halloween celebrations were a spooky success as Princess Antoinette Park turned into a haunted playground on October 31st. Witches, skeletons, and mini vampires took over the park for costume contests, face painting, and a candy treasure hunt fit for the undead.
Fine wine and fine company were on the menu at the 33rd Gala of the Monegasque Sommelier Association, held at the Yacht Club of Monaco on November 1st. The evening brought together sommeliers and connoisseurs to toast exceptional vintages in true Riviera style.
That same day, Prince Albert II attended the grand opening of Egypt’s new National Museum in Cairo — the largest archaeological museum in the world — a landmark moment for global heritage and diplomacy.
Back in the Principality, compassion took centre stage at Roquethon, Monaco’s annual solidarity march against animal abandonment. More than 400 people — and plenty of dogs — braved the weather under the Fontvieille big top on November 2nd, joined by Princess Charlene and her chihuahua to raise funds for animal welfare.
Also defying the elements, over 500 runners tackled the 48th Larvotto Cross Country Race, proving that not even rain could dampen Monaco’s competitive spirit.
On the international front, Prince Albert II’s historic visit to Paraguay marked the first by a reigning Monegasque sovereign, strengthening ties in diplomacy and sustainable development.
In sport, AS Monaco Basket are flying high — first with a dominant 94–77 win over Limoges to top the French standings, and then with a breathtaking 112–107 overtime triumph over Maccabi Tel Aviv in EuroLeague action. The Roca Team proved once again they can win with heart, grit, and just a touch of drama.
And in this week’s interview, we’re joined by Professor Elena Baranova, a leading expert in personal genomics and anti-ageing, to discuss how cutting-edge science is reshaping the way we think about health, longevity, and the future of medicine.
