Description

This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest developments from around the Principality.

Monte Carlo paid sparkling tribute to Josephine Baker on November 19, as the Grimaldi Forum hosted Welcome to Monte Carlo, a musical revue marking fifty years since the legendary performer’s passing. A fitting nod to a woman who once lit up stages across Europe, the show delivered glamour, history, and a healthy dose of razzle-dazzle.

Diplomatic ears were wide open on November 20, as more than 100 consuls and ambassadors gathered for the Principality’s annual briefing. Over two and a half hours, Monaco laid out its recent progress — economic strength, judicial reform, international outreach — the works. Plenty for diplomats to carry home in their attaché cases.

Relations between Monaco and Portugal moved from cordial to historic on November 21 and 22, when President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa became the first Portuguese head of state to pay an official visit to the Principality. The Palace courtyard welcome was suitably ceremonial, with the Princely Couple greeting the President before a programme of events aimed at strengthening long-established ties.

Environmental stewardship also took centre stage as Prince Albert II marked the 50th anniversary of the Association for Nature Conservation in Monaco. The Prince toured a special exhibition on November 22, celebrating half a century of commitment to protecting marine life — a reminder that ocean guardianship is a marathon, not a sprint.

International rowing talent swept into the Principality for the 20th Prince Albert II Challenge on November 22 and 23. Dutch crews proved the ones to beat, clinching wins in a weekend of photo-finish duels — some by mere seconds — under crisp Riviera sunshine.

Cycling fans got their adrenaline fix on November 23, when the Beking of Monaco returned to Port Hercule. Forty laps at breakneck pace ended with Italian powerhouse Jonathan Milan outsprinting defending champion Tadej Pogačar to take the win — a finish that could’ve cheered the harbour louder than the yachts.

History crossed borders once again when Prince Albert II travelled to Liguria to reinforce the centuries-old ties between Monaco and the region. Two municipalities officially joined the Network of Historic Grimaldi Sites, sealing a shared heritage that stretches far beyond flags and boundaries.

On the court, AS Monaco Basket tore up the script with a crushing 102–66 victory over Anadolu Efes in Round 13 of the EuroLeague. It was a record-tying assist night, every player got minutes, and the scoreboard wasn’t exactly subtle about who dominated.

This week on NEWS.MC TV, our guest is Vincent Valat, founder of The Wolf’s Club. In our interview, he discusses Monaco’s evolving social landscape, the momentum behind his fast-growing private members’ concept, and what it means to build community in a city where networks are everything.
