Today in History: In the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, the people build sukkot (tabernacles) during these days (see Nehemiah 8:16 –17), “So the people went out and brought [branches] and made [sukkot] for themselves, each on his roof, and in their courtyards and in the courtyards of the House of God … The entire assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made [sukkot] and lived in the [sukkot].”
