I used to think that I couldn't love God, let alone talk to him the ways I had done in my past, if I was embracing this other side of me - this still spiritual side but obviously very different side than what I'd grown up knowing or had been told was 'right'. The internal anguish I felt inside of me lingered. How do I leave one for the other? Because I certainly couldn't see how I could join the two in a happy union without feeling guilty or 'wrong'.
