1. After days of uncertainty over the Lok Sabha Speaker's post, the NDA has decided to nominate Om Birla for the post again. BJP's Om Birla was the Speaker in the previous Lok Sabha. Sources said that Mr Birla will file his nomination at 11.30 am today. The opposition INDIA bloc has fielded K Suresh against Mr Birla, the first time in decades elections will be held for the key post. A Lok Sabha Speaker is elected by a simple majority of MPs voting and all speakers until now had been elected with consensus. 2. The Centre's seven-member high-level committee forms to oversee transparency and look into the functioning of the National Testing Agency to meet on Monday, states the sources at the Education Ministry. 3. The Delhi High Court will shortly pronounce its verdict on a plea by the Enforcement Directorate seeking a stay on the trial court order granting bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case. A vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain had reserved the order on June 21 after the agency challenged the trial court's decision and put it in abeyance until the pronouncement.
