Penn State football is directly in the middle of a two-month visiting dead period. While it's a slow news cycle, it's a great time to get a bigger picture of the landscape that the team finds itself in after major changes to college football. Today, national reporter Pete Nakos joins the show to discuss the state of NIL after the House Settlement and what it means for the sport. We'll also take a broad look at the Penn State recruiting class of 2027 needs, as the current class is mostly filled.

Pete Nakos joins the show to discuss NIL 

This summer, the House Settlement put in place a framework for better managing NIL and bringing it under guidelines. How has that gone so far? What is the inital feedback? Nakos will discuss how teams are experiencing the new rules. 

Beyond that, has it begun to make NIL more transparent and fair? What are the challenges, both legal and logistical, to the new process? Of course, all of this affects Penn State. We'll discuss how the team has suffered losses to high-paying schools with top talent over the last two recruiting cycles. Is that still a danger going forward? Nakos will discuss what he knows. 

We'll also discuss NIL's impact on other aspects of college football, including the transfer portal. 

Early look at Penn State Class of 2027 needs

Finally, we'll spend the second half of the show discussing Penn State's biggest needs in the Class of 2027. With the 2026 group mostly filled, we've turned our attention to the future cycle, where Penn State has already put together a strong start to the class. We'll assess four major positions to that the team should target in the upcoming cycle to address roster needs of the future. Which positions need to be hit this cycle? Join the show to find out!
