Nagarjuna on the Three Causes of Enlightenment (in Tib. & Eng.)
Description
In this teaching, Geshe Sonam explains, using a verse by Arya Nagarjuna from the text 'Precious Garland of the Middle Way', on the three causes of Complete Enlightenment or Buddhahood. Geshe la teaches in Tibetan and his teachings are translated by Venerable Khedrup.
The Three Causes of Enlightenment
བདག་ཉིད་དང་ནི་འཇིག་རྟེན་འདིས།
Oneself and [others] of this world,
བླ་མེད་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐོབ་འདོད་ན།
If they wish to attain the unsurpassed enlightenment:
དེ་ཡི་རྩ་བ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས།
Its roots are bodhicitta, རི་དབང་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལྟར་བརྟན་དང་།
Firm like the King of Mountains,
ཕྱོགས་མཐས་གཏུགས་པའི་སྙིང་རྗེ་དང།
Compassion reaching all directions,
གཉིས་ལ་མི་བརྟེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལགས།
And wisdom not relying on duality.
