Description
Two National Guard members were shot in an ambush attack near the White House in Washington D.C. at approximately 2:15 PM. The gunman, identified as 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, opened fire on the guardsmen during their high visibility patrol before being subdued by other National Guard members and police. Both wounded guardsmen were transported to hospital in critical condition whilst the suspect was also hospitalised after being shot during the incident.
