The New Orleans Saints drop a heartbreaker to the Philadelphia Eagles who simply handled them in the run game. With the loss of Erik McCoy early, Derek Carr was consistently under duress and the run game never really got going, limiting Klint Kubiak's offensive playcalling.

The Saints defense gave up two critical explosive plays that did not help the situation. Tyrann Mathieu, Will Harris Jr. and Jordan Howden ran into one another to open up a big play and the Saints' run defense was exposed when it has not been often challenged so far this year.

How the Saints respond next week, however, will be more important than this performance.
