In episode 18, we sit down with members our Positive Action Team to discuss the importance of having a diverse workforce to further widen our range of experience, perspectives and knowledge. The team highlight the support that is available to applicants with any of the nine protected characteristics outlined in the Equality Act 2010, to better prepare them for the recruitment process. They also discuss the Positive Action Engagement Programme sessions which are available to ethnic minority communities.
Join us as we hear from Sergeant Clare Boichat, a passionate advocate within our Positive Action Team, and Sam Tunkara, a newly appointed police constable who benefitted from the guidance of Clare during his application process. Together, they reflect on the evolution of Kent Police, comparing the experiences of Clare, who joined 27 years ago, with Sam's journey that started last year.
