The human body is amazing, and it has the ability to heal.
But healing also comes with a price. Pain.
Have you ever watched a football game or sporting event where an athlete's lower leg snaps? You don't even want to watch the replay because it makes your stomach churn. That type of injury to the athlete is the same as what is happening with your disc. Only it's in your spine and likely means nerves are involved also.
So, the way you heal is not going to be the same as an ankle sprain except that is typically how the medical community handles it.
