SPOILERS RE: CONTENT: Conrad’s fiancee, Phoebe, died as the result of a Romeo and Juliet type situation where they were both supposed to fake their deaths and run away together. Due to the intense secrecy of their relationship, they miscommunicate, with Conrad taking the Juliet role and Phoebe Romeo. Conrad believes it is his fault and has never obtained closure. This is heavily stylized to reference Romeo and Juliet throughout.
