Mr. Pin and Mr. Tulip are a pair of hired killers. They will also commit associated crimes—for the right price. Mr. Pin, a very rat-like man, is the brains of the operation. Mr. Tulip… well, Mr. Tulip is a man of many parts. He will snort just about any powdery substance he can lay his hands on, but his lack of intelligence in the matter of procuring said substances leads to him frequently being cheated into buying, for example, powdered mothballs. 

The pair meet their match—and their fate—in Ankh-Morpork. The Big Wahoonie turns out to be too much for them. Despite their best efforts, they are unable either to complete the job they’ve been hired to do, or get out of town with the small fortune in jewels they extort from Mr. Slant. Instead they meet Death—and have two very different experiences in the afterlife.
