Property Tax Reform and School Funding with Senate Education Chairman Andrew Brenner
Update: 2025-09-04
Description
Property Taxes.
The process was supposed to be straight forward.
Ask voters for an new levy, and if approved that increase in millage which would raise an exact amount of additional money and not more.
But over the years, the system's legal guardrails designed to keep levies from raising additional revenue with new valuations were bypassed. It became way to raise revenue without needing a vote from the people.
This week Senator Andrew Brenner who chairs the Senate's Education Committee joins the President's Podcast.
He discusses property taxes, veto overrides, school funding, and accountability.
It's a conversation you don't want to miss.
