Prow Brothers, Inc., a regional plumbing, heating, and air conditioning company based in Madisonville, celebrated 100 years of service on Friday.

According to owner Tony Moore, Prow Brothers was founded in 1935 by three brothers and now stands as one of Madisonville’s oldest businesses. Sharing the background of the company, he said that Russell Prow Jr. took the reins from his father, Russell Prow Sr., in the 1970s, before the business was sold in the mid-1980s to Billy Brown, who had worked at the company since the 1950s.

Moore said his family bought Prow Brothers in early 2015 and also acquired R & D Electric in late 2014 and early 2015. Since then, the business has expanded to include four additional locations, serving a wide range of customers across western Kentucky.

click to download audioHe added that the company’s continued growth means a lot to him, and team members are very aware of the Prow Brothers legacy. Moore said the staff takes pride in serving families and businesses throughout Hopkins County and western Kentucky, and that they are dedicated to providing comfort for homes and workplaces alike.

First, they are committed to hiring apprentices and helping them grow from entry-level positions all the way to journeyman, with many team members becoming master certified technicians in their trades. He noted they take great pride in promoting from within the company.

Second, he said, they actively promote careers in the trades.
