QF32: The Inside Story From The Flight Deck
Description
On November 4, 2010, QF32 took off from Singapore’s Changi Airport just before 10am. For the passengers and crew on board, it was a routine take-off. Until four minutes in, when an explosion rocked the cabin, damaging almost every major system on the massive Airbus A380. The lives of 440 passengers were now in the hands of a crew battling to control a crippled aircraft.
Richard de Crespigny was the captain of that flight. Amid the chaos on board that night, the flight crew banded together, utilising their combined knowledge and training to safely land that stricken aircraft, without any casualties or injuries.
QF32 became the greatest challenge of Richard De Crespigny's life, testing every one of his skills.
In this episode, hear the story of QF32 in Richard's own words as he re-lives that incredible day, and the resilience he needed to overcome so many obstacles.
