In the episode, we:handed our platform over to a diverse range of queer migrant voicesheard from them their views on matters such asbeing shaped by country of origin and the (often multiple) cultures they have been exposed to sincehomaphobia and transphobia within cultures of origin: stereotypes vs the realityconflicts and compromises with family members, sometimes influenced by mixed cultural valueshow aspirations to move elsewhere can be part of queer identity in childhood, teen years and early adulthoodthe restrictions and liberations that can result from migratingfinding new queer friendships, cultural allegiences and communitycomparisons of queer culture and the tolerance of queer identity in (so called) Australia, to elsewhere.compared the two very different manifestations of iconic gay pop band Bronski Beat, and discussed the quarrel that led to this shift in their sound and presentation (although, unfortunately, the podcast version of this show cannot actually feature the songs).
