The Tampa Bay Rays hang on to win their last home game of the year 7-3. The Rays pounced on Boston early with a 3 run first inning. That inning was highlighted by a 2 RBI double by Christopher Morel. There would be no score until the 4th inning when Boston would score on a RBI double to make it 3-1. Brandon Lowe would hit his 30th homer of the year in the 6th inning to make it 4-1. Boston would try to complete their comeback in the 7th inning. They would score 2 runs and get the tying run to 3rd with less than 2 outs. But Bryan Baker would shut it down to hold the lead. The Rays would get some much needed insurance in the bottom of the 8th. Christopher Morel would hit a 2 RBI single to make it a 6-3 lead. Jake Mangum would hit a sac fly to make it 7-3. Joe Boyle started for the Rays and was solid. He ended up going 4.1 IP only giving up 1 run and striking out 9. The Rays will head out to Baltimore to start their last road trip of the season Tuesday night.
