Rather Than Wait To Be Fired By Trump, FBI Director Christopher Wray Resigns
Description
Once Donald Trump announced that he intended to nominate Kash Patel as the Director of the FBI, the writing was on the wall for the current FBI head Chris Wray. The problem is, FIB Directors are appointed for 10-year terms to help provide some independence and separation between the FBI and the president and his administration. A president can only fire the head of the FBI for good cause. But rather than force Trump's hand into what would be a wrongful firing, Wray "obeyed in advance" and resigned. Wray said he was resigning because, in his opinion, it was best for the FBI. But is it best for the American people? Or for American democracy?
