Throughout scripture, trees are mentioned more than any living thing other than humans or God. This week we have been reading, reflecting, and praying about how God uses trees from Genesis through Revelation as an image of creation, promises, prophecy, redemption, freedom, and flourishing. Today, we will read the story of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane leading to his ultimate crucifixion as the perfect and sufficient sacrifice for all sin on a tree in a high place.
