The Hashmonaim/ Maccabbees rededicated the Temple after the war with the Seleucid Greeks; today we can rededicate ourselves to the values and freedoms for which they fought. For example: The ability to pray on the Temple Mount, the necessity of not allowing Israel in particular and the West at large to be intimidated by Muslims and others who would deny us those basic rights, and more. Chanuka in the land is felt in its natural form. Olive oil it is. To life and light.
