We discuss Jessica's journey from the UK to Yale, and her extensive work in the NHS and with the UK Department of Health. We also delve into the challenges and potential of AI in healthcare, and the dynamics of being a woman in tech and academia.
Dr. Jessica Morley is a postdoctoral researcher at the Digital Ethics Center, Yale University. Prior to moving to the US, she completed her BA, MSc, and PhD at the University of Oxford and was the director of policy research for the Oxford Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science. In her previous, non-academic life, Jess worked for the UK Department of Health and Social Care and NHSX on digital, data, and technology policy. Her research focuses on how to ensure the secondary uses of health data are technically feasible, socially acceptable, ethically justifiable, and legally compliant.
