Can you be too giving? Can a giving nature actually be bad for you and the people around you? It flies in the face of accepted knowledge, but hear me out.
A few weeks back, I did an episode on the Rule of Reciprocity. It basically laid out how if you give first, others will be compelled to give back. But is that always the case?
This week, I look at the flip side of the argument, and explore the importance of setting expectations. When you tell people to expect free stuff from you, what can that lead to? Are there negative consequences to always giving freely?
