Richard Marx, a GRAMMY winning singer, producer & songwriter who’s sold more than 30 million records took some time to check in and catch up with his old friend Scott.


His 14 top 40 hits as a solo artist include “Endless Summer Nights,” “Should’ve Known Better” “Hold on to the Nights,” “Don’t Mean Nothing,” “Satisfied,” & “Right Here Waiting.”


"We kind of grew up together" he says, as he reminisces about his 30+ years in the biz.


He talks about singing background vocals on the Lionel Richie hits ‘You Are,’ ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Running with the Night.’ as a kid out of high school, and how Lionel helped him get his feet off the ground in the music business.


"I graduated from high school, i looked him up" He says of Lionel, "he had just broken up with the Commodores and he said why don't you come by the studio and he had me singing backup vocals."


He's working on a new album for his good friend Fee Waybill of the Tubes!


"We've been friends for 30 years, he was at my first bachelor party" he says of Rick Springfield, who he's touring with now.
