On the evening of October 12, 2012, in Highland Heights, Kentucky, 911 received a call that would shake even the most seasoned dispatcher. The voice on the other line that of 21-year-old Shayna Hubers, who matter-of-factly reported "I killed my boyfriend in self-defence.” 

When police on arrived on scene, they found a man, dead from gunshot. The victim, 29-year-old Ryan Poston, was a rising star in the legal world, a young attorney who had recently launched his own law firm. Shayna insisted that she had shot Ryan as a desperate act of self-defence. However, as investigators learned more about their toxic relationship - a relationship Ryan had fought to escape, they weren’t so sure. What followed would unravel a twisted and tragic story of possessive love and mounting rejection.
