Description

In this final part of our International Women's Day series, we continue to shine the spotlight on the stories of women on different journeys. We are joined by social worker Melisa Wong, Executive Director at Babes, a non-profit organisation that is committed to ensuring that every pregnant teenager in need of support and is given the opportunity to make an informed decision with regard to her pregnancy.

Melisa shares her insights on the challenges that teenage parents face and provides guidance on navigating the journey ahead. Joanne and Melisa delve into the impact of teenage pregnancy on parents and children, as well as the stigma and shame that often accompanies this topic. Melisa also shares valuable information on available resources and strategies to support teenage parents, including education and welfare services. Lastly, as parents or figures of authority to young girls, Joanne and Melisa explore the role of education in teenage pregnancy prevention and the importance of communication and relationships in navigating this complex issue.

Join us for an enlightening conversation on teenage pregnancy and how we can better support and empower our youth.
