This episode of 'Stop The Killing' investigates the devastating 2011 Norway attacks, the deadliest mass shooting ever reported. We discuss the comprehensive planning involved, involving both a car bomb near the executive government quarters that killed 8 people and injured 209 in Oslo, followed by an active shooting on a youth camp on an island nearby that resulted in the killing of 69 people, mostly teenagers. The perpetrator, motivated by extremist right-wing beliefs, was able to execute his plan with chilling precision due to extensive pre-meditation and deceptive tactics. The horrific events and their significant aftermath put into perspective the unexpected challenges faced by law enforcement in such chaotic scenarios and highlight the importance of emergency preparedness.
