While he is slated to take a special assistant role at Utah, this arrangement could easily be dissolved if a premier job like Michigan's became available. The move from Utah now gives him maximum leverage, as he doesn't have to wait until after the bowl game, and Michigan is looking for a coach quickly before the transfer portal fully opens.
