Safe and Sound: Security Talk with Jodi Fisher

Jodi Fisher, founder of Go Guarded was inspired to create Go Guarded a few years ago during a solo run in a local park when she inadvertently took a wrong turn and ended up a tad concerned for her personal safety. The sun was setting and she found herself in an unfamiliar and secluded part of the park. While she picked up the pace and found her way to a more populated area, the concern for her personal safety while running, stuck with her.

This experience led her on an unfruitful search for safety products for runners. Jodi was actually shocked by the lack of convenient, comfortable, effective options that made sense for runners. Although she had no product development experience at the time, she had (and continues to have) a long background in criminal justice and a good amount of personal safety knowledge. A lot of stressful days and sleepless nights later, Go Guarded was born.

Jodi is proud of what Go Guarded has become, and she is proud to be part of a movement where women stand up for themselves. She would love nothing more than to be part of the solution that stops the all too frequent attacks on female runners.
