Hazardous Weather Outlook. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North Carolina. east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. Day one. Today and Tonight. Strong to Severe Storms Possible Today, mainly the Plateau, central and southern Tennessee valley, and southwest North Carolina. Another area of thunderstorms will move southeast from the Ohio valley into northern Tennessee and southwest Virginia by mid- morning. This area of storms will develop southeast into east Tennessee and southwest North Carolina from late morning through mid-afternoon. Some of these thunderstorms could be severe, mainly across the Plateau, central and southern Tennessee valley, and eventually southwest North Carolina. The main concern will be damaging winds, hail up to quarter size, and heavy rainfall. Localized flash flood is possible. Days two through seven. Sunday through Friday. Strong to severe storms possible Sunday and Monday. Additional thunderstorms are expected Sunday and again Monday afternoon and evening. Some of these storms could be strong to severe. The primary hazard will be damaging winds with a localized threat for large hail. Heavy rainfall will be likely with thunderstorms which may produce localized flash flooding.
